Why I ship Eclare…

If you think I ship Eclare because I don’t want Eli to be happy… One you’re too obsessed with Eli, and two, you’re wrong. In fact, you’re so wrong, it kills me.

The reason I ship Eclare is simple. I have never honestly seen love like that. That may be corny, and typical, but it’s true. I’ve never seen such a connection on screen, at least not from actors who are at an age so similar to my own. 

Eli and Clare are soulmates. Doesn’t matter if you ship them or not. You can’t deny that they’re always brought back into each other’s lives. If you don’t ship them, you probably hate it, but tough luck. That’s what happens with soulmates.

They can date other people (Imogen/Jake), but at the end of the day those people they’re dating aren’t the ones they’re meant to be with. They’re not the ones they stay up late thinking “what if” about. They’re the ones who they shrug their shoulders at and say “it wasn’t meant to be”, because it wasn’t and it never will be. Clare and Eli both want the best for each other and at the end of the day, that is why they are the best for each other. When they were together it wasn’t forced or rushed. It was a relationship that grew deeper as time went on. And at the end of the day, a relationship built from trust is the one that will find it’s way back. It will take time and effort on both parties, but when you want the other person to be happy, whether it’s with you or not, that is love. A love that is selfless and not selfish will be the one that lasts. Always.
